The joys of waking up a sleeping baby...

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings Logan has to be awake by 7:45 in order to get him all ready and to daycare so I can be to work on time at 8:30. (The other days my mom comes to the house so I don't have to worry about him being awake.) I love going to wake him up. He typically is up between 8 and 8:30 anyway so he is starting to sort of wake up.

I walk in his room and open the curtains on each of the windows and say, "Good Morning Logan" and he shakes his head back and forth and goes back to sleep.

No thank you mom...

I walk over to his crib and say, "Hey little monkey - time to wake up!" This time I get one eye open looking at me and then he shakes his head again.

Five more minutes... please!!!

I unwrap his swaddle and he curls up in a stretch and the open eye closes and the closed eye opens.

Really? Seriously? You are going to make me wake up?

Then I scratch his belly and ask, "Are you ready to get up?" By this point both eyes are open and usually I get a yawn, but today I got a big smile!

Fine - I suppose it can't be avoided now... I'm up! I'm UP!

I picked him up and cuddled in and was asleep before we got back downstairs.

Oh - mommy is nice and warm... I'm sure she won't care if I go back to sleep!

Such a lazy little monkey I have!

Looking back...

I was sitting in the living room this morning holding Logan as he smiled in his sleep and realized what a great blessing this little man is. To know that there was a very good chance he could have died after birth just makes me appreciate every second we have with him. He is so happy and so healthy now that thinking of our time in the NICU seems like a distant memory now. I got to work this morning and was looking back at some of the pictures and it is just shocking to see how much he has grown and changed. Nathan and I thank God every day for Logan and can't imagine waking up each day without him across the hall.

Is it really only monday?!

I'm SO tired!

We had a very busy week last week between doctors appts and parties and such. Logan had his daycare halloween party on Thursday night - pictures below - it was so cute to see all the little ones dressed up.

Friday night - Logan's Grandma Wolfe came over to watch him while Nathan and I did some cleaning in preparation for our house guest on Saturday.

Saturday afternoon the whole family got together to meet Raelynn's little boy, Dane and also some of them had yet to see Logan since he was in the NICU. It was a great time. That night Nathan and my mom took Logan and Dane while Raelynn and I went to the New Kids on the Block concert! It was a LOAD of fun. It really was a great show and we had an absolute blast! Although we didn't get home and to bed until close to 2:00 am! Raelynn and I were both up at 4:30 feeding our boys - good times! They stayed until Sunday morning before heading home.
Nathan cleaned out our garage - it is officially a two car garage now with two cars actually in it!

YAY!!

Should be a quieter week this time around. Halloween on Friday and then hopefully a little birthday party for Nathan on the weekend. Good times!

Logan's 2 month check up

We were a little later, but Logan's 2 month check up was today.

HE HAS BROKEN INTO DOUBLE DIGITS! YAY!

10 pounds 4.5 ounces and 22 inches long!

He had all his shots and was a trooper. Granted he cried at first, but the nurse was so fast I was able to scoop him up real quick and he calmed down pretty fast. Grandma came to meet us at the doctor's office and took him home for some good 'ol grandma style love. Hopefully he won't have any reactions to the vaccinations and feels better pretty quickly.

Tomorrow night is his halloween party at the daycare center! He is going to be a giraffe! Can't wait to post pictures of those!

Our trip to the orchard

It was quite the ordeal, but we finally made it to the orchard today! We had a great time! Here are a few pictures form our trip. I don't think Logan was able to enjoy it too terribly much because he slept pretty much the whole time - whatever works though!

Logan is smiling a ton! He was giving Grandma some major smiles yesterday afternoon. We tried to catch a smile on video, but it didn't happen. He is so cute though! Please feel free to ignore the silly lame baby talk!
