Laundry Ride

Yesterday my parents were over to spend some time. Dad and Nathan were outside getting started on our new deck project (so exciting!) And mom and I were inside hanging out. She was playing with Logan while I was doing some scrapbooking - pictures to come tomorrow. Logan loves pushing things - anything. Last night it was a full laundry basket. Mom ended up putting him inside and taking him for a ride. He was laughing hysterically! I had to bust out the camera for a couple shots. He was such a happy boy! (Check out his shirt - he is drenched around the neck - it had soaked through the bib I had on him. Seriously - the drooling it just out of control!!)

Early Morning Pretzel Baby

I have been post happy this week, huh? Oh well... sometimes I just have a ton to want to document for us.

This morning Logan woke up at 5:30 (after going to bed around 7:30) so he slept pretty great. But he didn't want to go back to sleep in any way shape or form. We did give him a little 4 oz bottle when he first woke up and then let him finish up his morning bottle total with a 3 1/2 oz bottle around 7:30. I was in the kitchen preparing his diaper bag for daycare and came back in the living room and this is what I found:

Bad naps + Spaghetti = funny dinner moment

It has seemed for quite some that Logan naps better at home than at daycare - kind of a no brainer to me on why that happens. He is still a lover of his morning and afternoon nap and sometimes when he doesn't nap well during the day he'll take a 15-20 minute power nap in the evening to get him through til bedtime.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned on here before or not but Logan likes to shake his head back and forth when he is falling asleep. If he is on his stomach he bangs his forehead on the mattress a dozen or so times before he falls asleep. It is pretty comical actually. When he is on his back he just shakes and shakes and shakes. (Just for the record - his 60 year old Grandma - my mom - has done the same thing since she was a baby and still to this day will roll her head back and forth when falling asleep.) I have been wanting to get this on tape but I always forget.

Tonight Logan was eating spaghetti for dinner - a new favorite. (That will explain his very messy face!) All of a sudden there goes the head! He was so tired - poor Mr. Man. Nathan thought he was funny and kept offering him his dinner. Sometimes he will stop and take a bite and then go back to rolling his head. As you can see from the photos below he did end up with a power nap in his high chair while Nathan and I finished our dinner. It was pretty funny. Enjoy!

Logan's First Steps... check it out!

Logan took his first steps this morning with my mom and was such a wonderful boy and showed off for Mommy and Daddy when we got home from work. I'm so proud! Obviously he isn't walking yet - but he is for sure taking steps. It is only a matter of time. It seems the best motivation is my mom's necklace... whatever works! haha! I put together some clips from the four videos I took... enjoy!

Very short post!

Just talked to my mom at lunch time - she said Logan took FOUR steps!!!! Oh My Goodness!! Can't wait to get home and see for myself! He isn't even 10 months yet!

The Zoo!

This past weekend was so much fun! Logan's Uncle Stephen (Nathan's little brother) and his new Aunt Caitlin were married (pictures in the next post) and we had a ton of fun celebrating their special day. Sunday Logan's cousin Liam was dedicated at church and we spent time with the Wolfe pack opening presents and relaxing. Then Monday we all went to the Zoo in Toledo! It was a fantastic time and Logan was a champ all day. He was happy and smiling and laughing all day long! (He did sneak in a nap too which was quite easy in his nifty stroller.) Here are some fun pictures from the day.

(Oh - on a side note - the medicine the doctor prescribed for his cheeks is working great! They look SO much better! YAY! And last night he had his first experience with Grandma's spaghetti sauce and L.O.V.E.D. it! I had to make up another bowl for him to eat in addition to the carrots he had. Grandma has another fan!)

Yesterday morning we left Logan alone in the living room forgetting we left the drawers open that hold all the toys. This is what we came back to find.... such a cutie!

Pseudo Walker

I ran home for lunch today as I didn't bring anything with me this morning. It was also a chance to see Logan for a few as my mom was home with him today. :-) Mom ran out to the bank real quick and I watch Logan walk around the living room pushing his activity table all over:

Then I thought to myself..... Self - maybe he can use his walk behind toy?! We tried this last week (he has been pushing around the table for a while now) but the toy was moving too fast for him it seemed and he couldn't get his feet moving fast enough and just would fall. I figured a shot today couldn't hurt... at worst he falls on his face again and we try again later. :-) Much to my surprise he did great! My mom returned from the bank and I was so excited to show her Logan's new trick and of course the little butthead would NOT have anything to do with it. Just wanted to sit on his butt and spin the wheels. Such a silly boy. I showed her the video off the camera to suffice until he did it for her probably later this afternoon.

On a side note - Friday was my birthday and Nathan and I took a half day off work. Logan was at daycare and Nathan and I just kicked it old school so to speak. Just the two of us. We went to a nursery and bought a bunch of annuals and perenials to plant around the house. Then Nathan took me to a local scrapbooking store so I could go hog wild on some stuff. He also took me to a movie that afternoon! I went to pick up Logan from daycare where he made me an adorable gift (pics coming soon) and then he left to spend his first overnight with Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe. Nathan and I had a lovely dinner at the Melting Pot and then properly passed out cold within about 15 minutes of coming home. Wow... 28 is such an exciting age! *snore...*

Saturday was YARD DAY! We had spent two nights earlier in the week weeding as much as we good. Unfortunately the three previous owners of the house thought white rocks were the best landscaping had to offer. I now think of white rock as the spawn of satan. MUCH to our dismay we had to remove white rock on top of white rock on top of white rock. There was so much that all the top soil was gone, only clay was left. We had to bring in 600 pounds of top soil to fill in. We probably could have used more, but will just add to things next year I think. When all was said and done and after 8 hours of work in the yard I am quite pleased with the outcome! OH - and those 8 hours - only spent on the front yard! EEK! I of course forgot to take before pictures, but will take some after pictures tonight when I get home from work.

Yesterday after church Nathan did some work in the back yard. We have evergreen bushes (AKA the cousin of satan) on either side of the cement slab we call a patio. Nathan removed one of them yesterday afternoon. Still needs to get the stump out, but the rest is gone! We (and by "we" I mean my dad and Nathan) are going to build a deck over the cement slab later this summer (hopefully before Logan's first birthday) that will be a great addition to the back and we can finish some landscaping once that is done.

A big weekend!! Lots of pictures!

This weekend was so fantastic! Saturday we spent the morning celebrating our niece Piper's first birthday party at my brother and sister-in-law's house. She was a total doll face all day. It was a great time! We were able to see some friends and their little ones and spend time with family. Piper seemed to have a great day and I know we did. The first group of pictures are from her party. That evening we had Nathan's parents, grandparents and sister Deb over for dinner. It was nice - simple - lasagna, toast and a yummy salad. I don't have any pictures from that night as most of the pictures were taken on my in-laws camera and I couldn't find the card reader I need to copy the pictures over. It was a nice visit.

Sunday was a great Mother's Day celebration! Nathan and Logan gave me some beautiful green tinged roses and a peridot necklace. Peridot is a light green stone - Logan's birthstone. And the roses were supposed to go with that. I loved it all. We went to church and enjoyed a lovely service. Then Nathan and I had a relaxing afternoon. I took a nap which was great. Then we went out to dinner with my parents, Godparents and Kyle and Sarah and their kids. It was a great time!

This morning I took Logan to his 9 month appointment. He was 20 pounds 8 ounces and 29 inches long. Around the 70th-75th %tile. So he is proportionate. The doctor prescribed a topical cream for his face to try to help with the breakouts he is getting. I hope it clears up. I miss his smooth cheeks! He has grown so fast - from a 5th% at birth to what he is now. His doctor suggested we try to knock his 1-2 night feedings by way of the cry-it-out method. I'm not super keen on this... but we'll see what we end up doing.
