Fever and Tubes and Easter.... oh my!
This morning we still managed to get him in to see the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. Logan is getting tubes put in on May 3rd. I'm very anxious for this to happen as we have had a lot of ear infections (4 confirmed, but probably 5 total) since Thanksgiving. I'm praying it will put an end to the ear infections and all around sickness Logan consistently has.
Another reason I want to keep him home, besides the face that daycare doesn't want a kid with a fever there, is because we have a busy Easter weekend ahead of us. We will be spending Saturday with Nathan's family and then Sunday morning at our church and the rest of the day with my family.
That is of course assuming he is better by then. *fingers crossed*

Going...going....GONE!!
I was looking forward to showing him how to hold the bat.
I was looking forward to showing him how to hit the ball off and not knock down the whole thing.
I was looking forward to the light in his eyes when he figured out how to do everything.
I was looking forward to jumping and cheering for him up on figuring it all out.
What I was not realizing is that somewhere inside this "ALL BOY" boy of mine was an innate understanding of how to hit the ball of the tee and how to hold a bat. We walked out - I handed him the bat and BAM! smacked the ball right into the back yard.
I looked at Nathan and felt like - well okay then - so much for THAT moment! HA! But no worries I really wasn't disappointed so much (okay maybe a teeeeeeny tiny bit) but I was overwhelming proud of my little boy's smarts and understanding. These pictures were from a couple weeks ago on my phone, but since then he has just loved running out to the backyard after dinner and hitting away while mommy and daddy play infielders! GREAT FUN!
(Oh and he is a lefty in a house of righties so we may have to work on that! Or recruit his Grandpa Hunt, who bats left handed, to teach him how to really knock one out of the park!)

SPRING TIME!!
We bought him a T-ball set a few weeks ago and he is a natural! (Natural lefty - and his very right parents aren't sure what to do with that.) He l.o.v.e.s. being outside and so do we so it is great.
We busted out his wagon and half the time we go on walks he walks behind the wagon and pushes it along. Sometimes he does give in and let us just pull him in it as we walk around the neighborhood.
These pictures are from our first outing a couple weeks ago!

My lazy blog post of the day...
Outside my window… there are blue skies and warming temperatures!
The time is… 9:27 am
Today I feel… really tired, but happy it is Thursday and tomorrow is only a half day for me!
I am thinking… that I can't wait til work and dinner are over so we can get outside again tonight!
At the moment, I am thankful… for my boss being in the office... lame I know, but I get lonely and bored sitting by myself for days at a time.
I am going… to bust through my to-do list in hopes it will make the time go by faster.
I am wearing… jean capri pants, a brown hooded sweatshirt over a t-shirt and flip flops! (I love that this is my work attire!)
I wish… there was a magic potion I could drink to lose a bagillion pounds over night.
I am reading… many of the same children's books... over. and over. and over. and over.
I am working on… getting everything around me in order so I can focus on getting ME in order!
I am hoping… that Logan's new terrible two phase is short lived.
I am hearing… The hum of computers, the tippy-tap-tap of my and my boss' typing and birds tweeting outside my open window.
Around the house… we have almost finished conquering Mt. WASHmore that took over our basement. (I thought having a laundry shoot was going to be the best thing ever. And while it is great... the whole out of sight out of mind concept is in full force!)
I bet you didn't know… that green pancakes were a family tradition growing up. AND my grandpa even used to make my dad and his siblings green mashed potatoes for St. Patrick's Day!One of my favorite… words is menagerie.

Liam's First Birthday!
With all that and the time change Logan was not all peaches and cream while we were there. He was basically attached to Nathan the whole time and if Nathan went out of view... WATCH OUT! The only time it was okay for Nathan to leave the room was if I was holding Logan and he could see where Nathan went. We ended up leaving a little early and Logan took a nap in the car on the 2-hour drive back home. Once we got home he was all sunshine and flowers again and running ALL OVER the place. I think he had a lot of energy to get out.
Here are some pictures of our super cute nephew, Liam at his first birthday party!

Like Father... Like Son...
I even took the boys with me grocery shopping! I LOVE taking them along... it changes grocery shopping from a chore to a fun outing. Logan is just like us in the people watcher department. Although at his tender age of 19 months and 5 days he does not have the ability to disguise the fact that he is staring! HA! Oh well - at least at his age people aren't offended if you stare at them!
We got home and Logan decided to chill with Daddy - one of his favorite past times. AND - it made me thankful for my Blackberry because I could snap a quick picture. Granted it isn't the best quality, but it is easier than going to grab the fancy pants camera and miss this moment.
The older Logan gets the more he reminds me of Nathan. This just captured the thought perfectly!
Seriously?! Could they be any cuter?! My boys - they melt my heart...

Sorry if you already saw this on facebook, but it was too cute not to include in the blog as well!

Angry "Tractor"
Logan l.o.v.e.s. reading books. Like REALLY loves reading books. He points and talks and "reads" to himself quite a bit. When we finish a book he slams it shut with a resounding, "ALL DONE!" Then he raises it above his head as a clue for us to start reading again. It is pretty sweet.
Tonight Nathan sat down to read Logan a little tractor book... and then out of nowhere this low - demonic - growling voice repeatedly saying "tractor." It was freaky and hysterical! He continued to do it over and over with every book reading until finally he set himself into a coughing fit and then a sneeze and then laughter. I had to capture it on video... it was pretty funny.
We have no idea where he got this voice from, but the only time he uses it is on this tractor book. Too cute!
p.s. The camera work is bad, but it was the first video I've taken on my new blackberry and I didn't realize I could zoom in!
p.s.s. Yes he is wearing his snow boots - the kid is addicted and can now get them on and off by himself. A nice fashion statement.

The wife in me...
Please don't take that to say that I forget how I'm madly in love with the amazing man I married. I will, however, admit that I often forget to put as much effort into that part of my life as I should. Not sure I should admit that to the blog universe, but oh well.
To that point - there are days and possibly weeks that I am so focused on my roll as mom and employee and Lindsey that I forget my husband and all his wonderfulness. And trust me - there is A LOT of wonderfulness. Am I the only one who lets life get in the way?
Every so often Nathan and I need some one-on-one time... more than just a cuddle night on the couch... more than just a dinner for two. SO - my fantastic parents - amazing parents - spectacular parents offered to take Logan for the weekend. Nathan and I had Friday night, all day Saturday and part of Sunday for just the two of us! WOW!! Seriously my mom and dad are the most wonderful people. We are lucky to have them.
Friday night we went to a movie with a friend and her boyfriend. Then it was just a nice relaxing, romantic night at home.
Saturday morning Nathan wanted to sleep in, but I wasn't able to sleep in beyond 8:30. So I got up and took both cars for oil change and then made Nathan quite the breakfast (eggs, toast, sausage, and hash browns! YUM!) in bed and woke his booty up at 10:30! ha. We then got ready for the day and headed to the post office to get passports (no we aren't going anywhere, but Nathan's work will pay for his and I figured maybe someday I'll use it outside of going to Canada!) After that we went to IKEA! YAY! I love having an Ikea 20 minutes from us. Makes me so dang happy!
Nathan was given a big tip during his trip to Columbus for work on Friday - pays to do a great job, no?! So we stopped at Sprint and bought some new phones! We haven't bought new phones in close to four years. Mine was still doing okay, but the battery life was drainging. Nathan was on his second hand me down phone. With the surprise bonus we decided to take a leap and get some decent phones. We walked out with two Blackberry Curves! Watch out world... Lindsey and Nathan have CRACK-berries... this could be scary.
Then we rented a hotel room for Saturday night... one with a jacuzzi in the room! oooo la la! We got some dinner before hand and then headed over for some more relaxing.
The most funny moment of the night. I'm sitting in the jacuzzi waiting not so patiently for it to fill up so I can enjoy some bubbly jet action.... Well.... patience is not a virtue God blessed me with. So JUST when the jets began getting covered with water I requested (demanded) Nathan to turn on the jets. The jet directly in front on me was pointed up... which I didn't notice... BAM!! Water FLYING out and hitting me DIRECTLY in the face. Then there is me trying to block it and sputter out, "TURN IT OFF!!! TURN IT OFF!!!" Thankfully my sweet man did - but that was quickly followed by him falling to the ground in a fit of hysterics. It was actually REALLY funny though.
We had a great night of sleep and went down to get breakfast and brought it back up to our room, busted out my laptop and watched Grey's Anatomy from last week and continued our cuddle-fest and relaxation efforts. Once we checked out we went bowling - my high score... 110. Nathan's was 156. Clearly we are heading to the level of bowling professionals!
We came back home to do some picking up and then out to my parents and picked up our little boy. I swear he was bigger, more handsome, smarter, happier, sweeter and funnier than I remember him being.
With that being said - Logan is just a small reason I am so in love his Daddy, Nathan. Will it always take - should it always take a full weekend with just the two of us for me to really give Nathan all the love and attention he deserves? NOPE! It needs to be something I do every week, every day. And I REALLY will try to, but these weekends flying solo are pretty great too!
I love you Nathan!

BONUS post! HAIRCUT!
He did great again - sitting on daddy's lap and he liked touching the clippers and it seemed like they tickled him more than anything. The gal at Great Clips did great!
However, now I'm left wondering.... what happened to my baby?! He now LOOKS the part of the big boy in addition to acting it. Such a doll!
Backyard fun and a Logo!
By 2:30 Logan was still awake and running back and forth in his crib laughing and having a grand 'ol time. (This was over an hour after we originally put him there.) We thought we would just leave him in there since he was having run. Over the monitor we eventually start hearing, "Daddy?.... Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddy?" LMAO. I went in to get him and he came in hysterically laughing and wanting to play. We decided to bundle him up and take him outside for some fun in the winter sun. It was actually pretty warm out when you stood in the sun so it was pleasant.
We ventured out and Logan took off down the driveway screaming and laughing with - and I'm not kidding you - the most manic/insane sounding laugh. The kid was beyond tired, but we let him play anyway.
We went out back and built our first family snowman! It was great fun! Logan really enjoyed banging on the snowman. ha! Then we went out to the driveway and decided to shovel what was left of the slushy snow - really more like slush. Logan saw we had two shovels and INSISTED he help his daddy. They did a great job! Although when you take a tired toddler and add a dash of - we have to be done with being outside and you come out with a TANTRUM! He was NOT a happy boy. But that was to be expected all things considered. He went upstairs for a late afternoon snooze and was back to his happy self in time for dinner!
Here are some pictures...

Some of you know I'm doing a little side custom scrapbook business. It isn't anything major yet, but it is fine and am making enough to support my own scrapbook addiction so that is perfect! Check out my BEAUTIFUL logo below. It was made my a lovely gal named Tina. She is a Breast Cancer 3-day walker and in return for a small donation to her fantastic cause she made me this great logo. I totally love it. If you need a logo for your gig of choice and want to support a fantastic cause check out her blog!

18-ish month well baby!
I did have to laugh though - there are so many things that I worry/obsess about with Logan. The two BIGGIES...
1. His weight. I'm scared for him to be too heavy and have weight issues in the future. Or him being to skinny. The TRUTH: he is perfect and I should stop obsessing.
2. His words. Nathan and I started a list this weekend of all his words/phrases and we came up with 47 total. Yeah it makes a huge difference when you put stuff on paper. The TRUTH: at the appointment they asked if he had more than 8 words. YUP! Clearly not something I need to worry about.
Yeah.... momma needs to chill.
At almost 19 months Logan is still the happiest boy around and while he has some tantrums, lately they have been few and far between. He loves his daddy and will tackle him at every opportunity. He will give hugs and kisses to anyone who asks and will light up the room as soon as he enters. He is such a great boy and we are so beyond lucky to have him.

Me... myself... and I (oh and Nathan too...)
Nathan and I went to high school together and were both in choir. Nathan was VERY VERY shy and well - to put it mildly - I was not. Senior year we did a musical together - Fiddler on the Roof - and kind of got a little crush on each other. He asked me on a date -this was December of 1998) and I agreed. However - to make this part of the story shorter - let's just say the night before our date he and a mutual friend Matt decided to take my brand spankin' new car for a joy ride. Needless to say - I cancelled our date and had a few other choice words for the young man. He tried to make up for it - left a message apologizing, sent his mother with a dozen roses to my door and even wrote me a poem. Apparently I had wasn't having it. We didn't speak again the rest of senior year.

Press that fast forward button again to sometime in 2000. Third times a charm, right? Not so much. Nathan asked to take me to Olive Garden for dinner when we were both home from school. We went... he ordered his food and didn't speak again the rest of our meal. I refused to let him pay for my meal because I was mad and when he asked me if I wanted to go to the mall and walk around - I said no. He took me anyway. I was miserable. We left - he dropped me off and left the money I'd given him toward dinner in my parents' mailbox.
Now between those dating efforts and after I would bring boys home to meet the family and my Grandma - also my bestest friend - would say, "yeah he is nice, but what about Nate Wolfe, Lindsey? He was so sweet and liked you so much!" My reponses, "uhm... he is wierd, doesn't talk and is odd." "Fine," she'd say, "he can be my boyfriend." So he was. He and I talked off and on for the next few years - just as friends. I graduated from college in 2003 with a degree in Public Relations, moved back to the area I grew up and began working where I still am today. Nathan opted not to finish school and went to worker bee path. I had two VERY serious relationships and two not so much relationships - and Nathan had his share of romances as well.
In April of 2004 my Grandma passed away. I hadn't seen Nathan since our Olive Garden date, but had talked to him many times. He would always ask how his girlfriend was. It was quite sweet. When she died - he was the first person I called. Two or three days later he showed up at the funeral. I was shocked. He was like 4 inches taller and broader and quite cute! I walked up to greet him - by my side - my boyfriend at the time. Who, according to Nathan, shook his hand in such a way to say, "nice to see you, keep your eyes off Lindsey - she is mine!" lol For the record - Nathan also had a girlfriend at the time.
Nathan relationship ended a couple months later, as did mine. That September we decided to just "hang out" at my apartment as when we actually GO somewhere it tends to suck. There is much debate on WHO made the "hanging out" get together into a date... it may have been me, but whatever. Nathan who had no assumptions came to the door with rediculously long hair and a three week old beard. uhm... not the clean cut boy I was expecting to say the least! BUT - the hanging out/date went well. He came over the following weekend clean shaven and hair cut and we actually WENT OUT and had a great time. I think it helped that we both had grown up quite a bit. Nathan, while still a pretty quiet guy, TALKED (and still does) a lot more than he did.

After that we moved into a lovely apartment in the city we worked. I continued my job at the enginneering firm and Nathan tried out a few jobs before he found one he was happy with. We lived in our wonderful apartment for two years. We found out just before Christmas of 2007 (December 22nd) to be exact that we were expecting Logan! Here is my first ultrasound from January 2008. Crazy to think that little alien shrimp looking thing is the same toddler running around all day long.
In April of 2008 we closed on our first home and after about 6 weeks of working on the house we moved in the end of May! Here is our moving crew.
So that is it - you probably know most everything after that. Logan was born a month early on August 10, 2008. He spent 5 days in the NICU and came home and has been nothing but perfect and healthy since then! Nathan and I are still very much in love and happy, but always working on making our marriage stronger and happier. (We are very much looking forward to a Nathan/Lindsey weekend in a few days compliments of my parents!!) I must say - I'm glad we kept trying to date and also dated other people that really showed us what we do and DO NOT want in a relationship. FOURTH times a charm!!

Logan was yelling "
"Look mom! NO HANDS!"
