Grandpa's Camping Weekend

This past weekend we spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday at a campground called Twin Mills. It was a great time! My parents, my brother and his wife and kids, and our little Wolfe pack. We were celebrating my dad's 60th birthday! A great time! Last November my mom celebrated her 60th and we did a big surprise party. My dad only agreed to the whole sha-bang if we did NOT do a big party for his birthday this year! Camping was a perfect alternative. Kyle's family borrowed an RV from a friend and we borrowed my in-law's RV. It was perfect! Here are some great pictures we took from the weekend...

Logan finding something totally histerical!

Caught Piper mid toss! All three of the kids had a great time getting tossed back and forth. Kyle and Nathan threw Tommy back and forth over and over and over again. He couldn't get enough of it!

Logan and Grandma hanging around at the pool.

Mommy and Logan having a great time in the pool.

Love this face. My grandma (Logan's Great-Grandma) set her mouth like that from time to time. The second I looked at that picture it started cracking me up because I totally saw her face in my little man.

The first night we were at the campground we gave Logan a shower in the shower of the RV, but the water was cold and he was SO not happy with us. The next night we tried another approach. We heated some water on the fire and gave Logan a bath in the dishwashing bucket! HA! It was Aunt Sarah's idea and it worked perfect!

Slippery little monkey!

Cousin Piper loved pushing the stroller around (and riding in it) and even gave Logan a little ride.

Grandpa showed the three kids a great game! Play with the cold water and ice in the cooler! YAY! What fun! they kids all loved it!

Logan even took a turn at drumming on the cooler with Grandpa. Banging was the best game!

All three little drummers giving it a go!

It was a GREAT weekend!

We have TEETH!!

No picture available... *GASP*... I know I know... A post without a picture. Oh well!

Yesterday morning I felt Logan's bottom gum and I felt a little sharp piece! PRAISE GOD! Finally!! A TOOTH! By the end of the day the whole top of the bottom left tooth was visible. Very exciting!

Then this morning I felt in there again and there was the bottom right! It isn't as visible as the left at this point though. I swear - finally... I feel like I've been saying, "Oh he is teething," for months. Well -technically I have been! :-)

What is funny to me about it all is the past two nights he has slept through the night and then the next morning has a tooth! He had been doing a random night feedings on and off recently so we are happy to have back to back solid nights!

Logan's First Popsicle!

Daycare had a treat for the kids today - the ice cream truck came! YAY! I have no frequented an ice cream truck since I was probably 12 or something. Logan can't have milk products yet so I didn't bring any of the money required for him to enjoy a treat with the other babies. His teachers so sweetly reminded me that the ice cream man serves popsicles as well! DUH Lindsey. I didn't bring my wallet in and was running late to work so they spotted me the $2. They are so sweet!
I asked one of his teachers, Melissa, to take a picture with her phone and send it to me. You know me - never want to miss a moment!! She called me after lunch and said Logan L.O.V.E.D. his popsicle and was the only baby to finish the entire chilly treat! HA! She also sent along these pictures. I'm betting this felt SUPER great on his poor little toothless gums!
(Thankfully he still ate all his lunch too! I wonder how naptime went with his sugar high? I've never given him sugar like this... he only get sugar from his fruits. Heck - I don't even feed him juice at this point! Mommy may have to run out and buy some frozen fruit popsicles for him to enjoy in this summer heat.)

What a DOLL!!

Happy Father's Day!

Okay - I'm a day late, but we were ALL OVER the place yesterday and by the time we got home relaxing on the deck was about the only decent option. We invited the neighbors over and they hung out with us - it was a nice time. Logan spent the night at my parents (mom has him on Mondays so it just made sense since we were leaving their house so late anyway) and Nathan and I slept like a couple of rocks!

Yesterday was fun! We got up early (thank you Logan) and did a lot around the house in preparation for the day. Left to head out to Nathan's parents' church and left a little early so Logan could get a decent nap in. (The care is still his baby ambian!) Church was nice and then back to my in-laws house for some pool fun and lunch!

Stylin those cute glasses! Aunt Deb was able to get them on for a few photos!

Aunt Deb and Logan! So cute!

Get these off! HA!

I got Logan all fed and then we headed out to the pool! This was Logan's first time in the pool and we were all excited to see how he would react. He L.O.V.E.D. it! Took a few minutes and then he was splashing and having a good 'ol time! Nathan took him in and after about 10 minutes we attempted a little dunk action. Just for a split second and Logan seemed to enjoy that too! No fussing - no nothing! The only tears came when we took him OUT of the pool!

(Aside: we are going camping this weekend to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday so we are very happy Logan loved pool time since he will be getting a lot of it this coming weekend!)

Logan hanging out with Daddy in the pool for the first time! HE LOVED IT!

Family time in the pool!

Logan loved the floaty and had such a great time in the pool!

Time to dry off in my new big fluffy towel. So cute!
Lunch was yummy and Logan was DOWN for the count come nap time!

When he woke up we took him out to my parents' house for fun time with the cousins. Piper was a doll as always.

Logan and Daddy on Father's Day... so cute!

Cousin Piper checking to see if Logan had any teeth yet. NOPE! NO TEETH!

Logan checking to see what teeth are like since Piper has some great teeth!!

Cute cousins!!

Check out Mr. Man in the box Grandpa's present came in! ha!

My brother, Kyle and his boy Tommy riding the lawn mower!

How stinkin cute is she?!?

Trying so hard to get the kids to all sit together for a picture. It didn't really happen! :-)
My mom busted out a new tank top for Tommy and about 20 minutes later when Logan needed a new shirt I pulled out one I had bought for Logan on Saturday.. they matched!
We had another fantastically yummy meal. Nothing can touch my dad's flank steak and potatoes/carrots on the grill. YUM YUM YUM! It was a great day - we were tired, but had a fantastic time!

Logan got a bath and was headed to bed when Nathan and I took off for home. Like I said at the beginning we had a nice chat with the neighbors and off to bed. Another work week has now begun!

Little things I don't want to forget....

I realized the other day there are little things Logan does that I just don't want to forget. One of those things is how whenever he sits he crosses his feet. He does this in his carseat, highchair or just hanging out in the floor. I love this about him and just want to make sure that someday I don't forget he did

Walking like a champ!

It was just three weeks ago today that Logan took his first steps. Seems like it has been longer considering how much walking he is doing now. He walks much more than he crawls. Crawling seems to be reserved for getting somewhere to pull up to standing again so he can walk some more. He hasn't quite mastered standing from a sitting position without some help. He is getting better at bending over to pick something up and standing back up, but that is still hit and miss. He has also started to master turning around to go in a different direction as you will see in the video:

(Okay - I think I'm done posting blog updates for the day! I must have been going through withdrawl or something!! That and I've been trying to spend less time on the computer at home - so far so good!)

Eating on the deck!

Now that our deck is pretty much done we have been LOVED spending time out there in the evenings. On Monday I brought home a couple steaks and Nathan grilled them up for dinner. They were YUMMY!

We brought Logan's highchair out and he even ate dinner outside. Although it wasn't a very successful meal. I think the birds were quite distracting for him. Eventually he started eating... well - eating everything EXCEPT the blueberries I bought. The night before he at about a dozen blueberries at Nathan's parents' house, but tonight he was having NONE of it!

So here is a tutorial for how NOT to eat a blueberry, By Logan:

Step One - pull blueberry out of mouth with a total look of disgust and nastiness!

Step Two: Inspect what you took out of your mouth to insure that it is in fact nasty and is also NOT something you want to eat! Continue making nasty face just for effect...

Step Three: MASH up aforementioned food as to avoid having to eat it again at any point in the meal.

Step Four: Give your mother a look of "HA - what you gonna do now, mama??" Add a little smirk just to show her who is, in fact, the boss of meal time.

So ends the lesson of the day. I hope the babies of those who read this blog are able to execute these four steps with the same enthusiasm as their friend Logan.

King of the TP!

I went to the store the other day and bought the HUGE package of toilet paper that lasts for a super long time. (Is it just me or does it seem like toilet paper lasts a lot longer when you are NOT pregnant. I swear when Logan was in my belly I went through more toilet paper than an army! Those frequent potty breaks probably should have convinced me to buy some stock in Charmin!)

Anyway... I digress... I left the package downstairs only to have Logan quickly discover that it was great for pushing. Not only was it great for pushing, but it was great for his new love of CLIMBING! Took him a few tries, but he finally got up there! "I'M KING OF THE TP!!"

We have hit double digits.... 10 months!!

EEK!! My baby is SO not a baby anymore. At least it feels that way. Logan is 10 months old today. Time sure does fly - that is for sure. Just two weeks ago he took his first steps. And while they were steps - they quickly ended with him falling into our arms. But NOW - he is walking all over the place. Usually with our prompting, but now he will walk from toy to toy, toy to chair, etc etc. It is great to watch. He is doing fantastic. Here is a little clip of my sweet boy walking back and forth between Nathan and I. Don't mind my horrid camera skills, but you do see his feet which really is the main thing involved with walking, right? :-)

Also during the walking Logan suffered a spill that resulted in a lovely rug burn to his forehead. OOPS! We didn't catch him fast enough it seems. It was mostly gone by this morning though so that is a good thing.

I am going to take Logan to the doctor tomorrow after daycare and do a weight check on him. I've been good at getting his weight/lengh each month so I can fill it in his baby book. I feel like I need to start planning his first birthday party now too.

I was planning on a Jungle theme, but now I'm thinking beach. I figure it will be quite warm on August 8th (the day of his party) so a warm theme made sense.

So please vote... BEACH or JUNGLE ???

Just a Swingin'

Saturday was my Sister-in-law, Sarah's birthday! We all met up at the Hudson Mills park (where we did the March of Dimes Walk) and had a nice little cook out!

Logan loves the swings at daycare so I figured he would probably like the ones there too. I was right - he had a good time!

Our new BIG deck!

This weekend my dad and Nathan tackled our back patio area. Originally it was a 12x20 slab of cracked/uneven/angled concret. I mentioned to my dad a few weeks ago that we were thinking of putting a low wood deck over the space. Well - in all his retirement free time he jumped on the project and before I knew it we had everything priced out and were ready to start! WOAH! My goal was to have it done before Logan's first birthday party, but we were on a roll!

Last weekend Dad came over and they men dug the post holes and got those ready and then during the week Dad came out one afternoon and put the header board along the house. Saturday morning was when the real fun began!

Our sad little patio area. There was a bush off to the left side, but Nathan pulled it out. The one on the right will probably come out too since it has been pretty well hacked up.

Logan even came out to lend a helping hand. No work can be done without all three of the boys getting their hands dirty.

Dad and Nathan got their hands dirty with the deck - Logan opted for some grass. He is finally starting to be comfortable in the grass. So much so that he was eating it. All well and good until he started gagging on it! GROSS!

Saturday they finished getting up all the support beams. It is going to be a BIG deck - 14x20 feet! WOAH! The patio didn't seem that big because of all the overhang form the bushes, but this sure does seem really big!

On Sunday morning my dad came over early and they got going on the deck boards. Dad had to leave (he was helping my brother with some painting) so Nathan was let loose to hammer away. We skipped church, but I figured Jesus was a carpenter - He would understand. :-)

Logan and Daddy checking out the handywork.

Testing it out. Yes - he is wearing a halloween bib. HA! At least it matches his orange (non halloween) onesie!

The deck as of 8 pm last night. Nathan did 20 more boards after Dad left for a total of 23 finished. Only 5 or so more to go! Yipee!

Nathan doing the strong man pose I requested. He told me I was dumb, yet still did it. HA! Go figure... I will post pictures when we get the final boards and detail work done. Hope you like!
