Is it naptime yet?

Seems to be that either I am going to bed at 9:00 pm or I'm taking multiple naps a day! Both of which make me very happy. Yesterday I think it all finally hit me. Nathan and I were sitting on the couch and all of a sudden I just burst into tears. I can't wait to see how my belly grows (can't imagine it getting even bigger! Dear Lord Help Me!) I can't wait to see how much Nathan gets invested. He is already so excited. We heard the saying the other day,

"A mother becomes a mother when she finds out she is pregnant. A father becomes a father when he sees the baby for the first time."

Nathan thinks that is a bunch of crap and I must say that I agree with him! He loves this baby just as much as I do.

We are going this afternoon to buy a book that Nathan will read every night to the baby. My friend Penny and her husband did this when she was pregnant with her twins and she said it was amazing how active the boys would get when they would hear their daddy's voice reading the book. I'm looking forward to it.

Well - I am supposed to be helping clean the apartment for company on New Years Eve!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! It will be an amazing one!!

4 weeks pregnant

I am 4 weeks pregnant today.

I am feeling fine - a little crampy, but that is normal. No spotting or anything which is good. I took another pregnancy test today - I figure I have them... why not! I got a + on the $1 store brand test! HA! That made me laugh. The only real "symptom" I have is being exhausted and ready to nap at any given moment. I did get a little sick to my stomach at the smell of the kitty's wet cat food, but other than that I am doing fine.

I have my frist appt on Jan 15th with the nurse to go over my do's and don'ts and medical/OB history. Then on Jan 25th I have my first ultrasound!! It still feels so surreal and not at all how I imagined. I keep thinking I am going to wake up from this dream or that it is totally happening to someone else! Crazy... I am so so so thankful and I pray with all my heart that God blesses us with a baby that is happy and healthy for the next 9 months (and beyond of course!)

Making the big announcement

Well we were able to tell my family over the holiday. On Saturday after we found out I went to Meijer to buy a stocking. I wrote "Baby Wolfe" on it with this nasty glitter glue. It was so hard all Saturday night not to blurt it out to everyone, "We are pregnant!!!" Luckily we managed to keep our mouths shut.

Sunday morning comes and we decide to open presents before we eat... thank God! Kyle and Sarah took their presents downstairs and after they came up Nathan ran down and put the stocking up next to ours. It worked perfect. We were down there ready to open things and just had to wait for everyone else to come down. When they finally do it takes a good 10 minutes before anyone notices! Mom and Dad wanted Tommy to open one of his presents (a little easychair for him to sit in - he loved it.) Then Dad finally started handing out the stockings. Of course he starts on the opposite side from where the baby's stocking is. Then he goes to the correct side, but starts at the top rather than the bottom. Nathan and I were trying so hard not to laugh. Finally, Mom looks and sees the stocking. She looks at us and says, "No! Really?!" and I nod my head. My dad puts two and two together and starts crying and hugging us. My oh so mature father of two brother yells, "Babies Everywhere!" It was really fun. It was such a relief to finally be able to tell them! I was feeling so anxious about it all!

On Monday- Christmas Eve - we were at Aunt Me and Uncle Frank's house with all the aunts, uncles, cousins... everyone!! Nathan and I had gone out the day before and bought a cute outfit and wrapped it up with a card that said, "To: Baby Wolfe, Love: Mommy and Daddy." My cousin Kendra was the "elf" handing out presents and it worked out perfect that the present was the last one found under the tree. (Nathan had hid it well.) Kendra reads it and says, "It is just another present for the baby." (Meaning Kyle and Sarah's baby.) I said, "Kendra - read it again!!" So she did and finally looks at me and said, "SHUT UP!!!" Word made it around the room pretty quick that we were pregnant and hugs were going like crazy. It was really fun.

Nathan was able to tell his Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe on Christmas Day. Grandma said, "Woo-hoo!!" and Grandpa yelled, "Praise the Lord!" It was really funny. He also told his aunts and uncles on his dad's side. We are waiting to tell his parents/siblings and mom's side til New Year's Day when we are with everyone. I can't wait to see his parent's reactions since it will be their first grandbaby. It will be worth the wait. Nathan is very anxious to tell them and said he will just have to avoid talking to his mother between now and then so he doesn't go nuts.

I must say - telling people has been the funnest thing so far!

I can't believe it is real!

It is 6:00 am on December 22, 2007. At 2:45 I took my temperature... about 15 minutes before I normally do. After that I went out to the couch to get Nathan as he had fallen asleep on the couch. My temperature stayed up which made me so so happy! Well I needed to go to the bathroom so since my temperature stayed up I decided I would take one of the Meijer brand tests. Pretty quickly the test came up with a second line!

I thought... okay I will try the First Reponse test. I thought that maybe I saw a line, but on the other hand it was REALLY REALLY faint. So I figured... go big or go home... I pulled out the digital test. I was waiting and watching the hourglass flip back and forth and back and forth... then the alarm on my phone went off. I ran out to the nightstand and turned the phone off. Then I walked back into the bathroom and the test said "pregnant!!!!!!!!!" I was in shock!!!

I looked at the test and then looked at Nathan sleeping in our bed and back at the test again. Then I walked out with my fingers laced together and holding my hands in front of my mouth. I said, "Nathan..." He looked at me and I had tears in my eyes. He looked at me and said, "Did you?" and I nodded and then he said, "Are you?" and I nodded again. I was sort of crying and then I just started laughing and hugged Nathan and he was crying and I showed him the tests.

I still can't believe it and I haven't been able to fall back to sleep at all. I am cautiously optimistic, but know it is really really early in this whole process. I am 3 weeks and 4 days pregnant.
