Making the big announcement

Well we were able to tell my family over the holiday. On Saturday after we found out I went to Meijer to buy a stocking. I wrote "Baby Wolfe" on it with this nasty glitter glue. It was so hard all Saturday night not to blurt it out to everyone, "We are pregnant!!!" Luckily we managed to keep our mouths shut.

Sunday morning comes and we decide to open presents before we eat... thank God! Kyle and Sarah took their presents downstairs and after they came up Nathan ran down and put the stocking up next to ours. It worked perfect. We were down there ready to open things and just had to wait for everyone else to come down. When they finally do it takes a good 10 minutes before anyone notices! Mom and Dad wanted Tommy to open one of his presents (a little easychair for him to sit in - he loved it.) Then Dad finally started handing out the stockings. Of course he starts on the opposite side from where the baby's stocking is. Then he goes to the correct side, but starts at the top rather than the bottom. Nathan and I were trying so hard not to laugh. Finally, Mom looks and sees the stocking. She looks at us and says, "No! Really?!" and I nod my head. My dad puts two and two together and starts crying and hugging us. My oh so mature father of two brother yells, "Babies Everywhere!" It was really fun. It was such a relief to finally be able to tell them! I was feeling so anxious about it all!

On Monday- Christmas Eve - we were at Aunt Me and Uncle Frank's house with all the aunts, uncles, cousins... everyone!! Nathan and I had gone out the day before and bought a cute outfit and wrapped it up with a card that said, "To: Baby Wolfe, Love: Mommy and Daddy." My cousin Kendra was the "elf" handing out presents and it worked out perfect that the present was the last one found under the tree. (Nathan had hid it well.) Kendra reads it and says, "It is just another present for the baby." (Meaning Kyle and Sarah's baby.) I said, "Kendra - read it again!!" So she did and finally looks at me and said, "SHUT UP!!!" Word made it around the room pretty quick that we were pregnant and hugs were going like crazy. It was really fun.

Nathan was able to tell his Grandma and Grandpa Wolfe on Christmas Day. Grandma said, "Woo-hoo!!" and Grandpa yelled, "Praise the Lord!" It was really funny. He also told his aunts and uncles on his dad's side. We are waiting to tell his parents/siblings and mom's side til New Year's Day when we are with everyone. I can't wait to see his parent's reactions since it will be their first grandbaby. It will be worth the wait. Nathan is very anxious to tell them and said he will just have to avoid talking to his mother between now and then so he doesn't go nuts.

I must say - telling people has been the funnest thing so far!
