Logan is discovering his voice!

IN A BIG WAY!!!

He just gets louder and louder and louder with each passing day. TOTALLY cracks me up. He might sound upset in this video, but he quite literally had been "talking " like this for over five minutes prior to starting the camera up and continued for a few minutes after I stopped recording. He has been making many different noises lately and I am just loving it.

Other updates... Logan had started rolling both ways last month. (Back to belly was the second way - he had been going belly to back for quite a long time.) Then he kind of just stopped. He seems to do that. Learns a new "trick" and does it for a few days and then stops. Well starting a few days ago he started rolling again... LIKE A MAD MAN! He is working really hard at getting up on his knees, but every time he does he face plants. He is working hard though! Maybe he'll be crawling before we know it! (He has scooted backwards a couple times!) EEK!

Rub a Dub Dub!

Logan is really loving bath time. It is a far cry from the time we took this photo:

That was his first bath after leaving the NICU. He HATED it!!!! Gosh - he is so skinny there.

These photos are from tonight. He will finally sit in the "deep end" of his bathtub. Up until last week he would sit in it but arch his back and just about fall out if we weren't watching. Now we lay a towel in there and it gives him some traction on the plastic tub.

He has definitely filled out since that first picture from 6 months ago!

Must. Reach. My. Ducky.

Yummy! (Look at those baby blues!)

Such a happy baby!

Logan is loving discovering his voice lately. He will just sit there and squeal while he plays with his toys. When I picked him up at daycare yesterday they said he didn't sleep much, but when everyone else was asleep he would just squeal and scream with happiness. I think he just likes hearing himself at this point. It really is quite funny to carry on a conversation with him. Sometimes he almost sounds like he is growling. The two videos below are just short clips of the almost 10 minutes he was talking and laughing.

It is quite comical when he laughs. He is a major belly laugher and without fail within about 3 or 4 laughs he gets the hiccups and can't laugh anymore. This happens without fail every single time. Thankfully he is doing better with not spitting up when he hiccups now. *knock on wood!*

ENJOY!

Uncle Kyle vs. Logan

A lot of people have said that Logan looks an awful lot like his Uncle Kyle...

What do you think?

Logan's Official 6 month photos

Nathan and I took Logan today to Portrait Innovations for his official 6 month photos. We had SO much fun. They took 84 photos and it was so incredibly hard for us to narrow them down. We had to do go through 4 times weeding more and more out each time. We finally made it down to 6 plus the 1 we picked for the special they had going. WOW was that a chore! The photographer told us to have an ugly baby next time! HA! At the bottom of the photos is a Kodak Album that include all the photos we had to choose from. The ones below are the ones we picked! Enjoy!

Will he be a harmonica player?

Logan started rubbing things on his gums and making squeaky noises. The rubber ducky was a prime candidate for this! Once he got the squeak going he didn't want to stop! It looked like he was playing a rubber ducky harmonica! The boy is in serious need of some teeth! He has been doing the gum rubbing thing for a couple weeks now, but I think he is actually enjoying the squeaking things he can use this week. If you take the ducky away and give him something that won't squeak he gets mad. (Which of course Daddy and I find pretty funny!)

Our Lows: honestly... other than waiting for our tax return money to come in and right our ship back on the normal course (SO LONG credit card debt!!) I don't have many complaints.

Logan's official 6 month update!

Every month or every other month I sent out an update to friends and family on how Logan is doing. Here is his update from today. (Yes - I am being slightly lazy and just copying and pasting! Oh well...)

Yesterday marked Logan's 6 month birthday! Time sure does fly! He is doing fantastic... honestly amazes Nathan and I each and every day. He has been eating cereal for about a month now and we have started adding veggies to the mix. So far just sweet potatoes and squash, but tomorrow or Friday we'll try something new. He is loving it! He often gets overly excited and we have a bit of a mess on our hands, but alls well that ends well. Logan has been sitting up on his own now for a good 3+ weeks now and as of January 30th he can roll from back to belly. He is officially mobile! There have been numerous times that we find him not where we left him! It is all good fun until he runs into the couch or chair and can't figure out that rolling the other way will free him.

He had his 6 month check up today and the doctor is no longer age adjusting him for his preemie status! I think they will keep an eye on him developmentally and such, but for now he is right on target. He weighed in at 16 pounds 2.5 ounces (50th %) and was 26.5 inches long (75th %). We looked at his weight at birth... 5 pounds 3 oz and he was in the 5th % when not age adjusted... he is growing like a weed! The doctor was very pleased and gave him a clean bill of health saying he was "perfect!" I, of course, agreed! The doctor said we can attempt to give him soy formula and see if he can tolerate that. We shall see. Many babies who have a milk protein intolerance also have a soy protein intolerance. Time will tell. It won't hurt him to try soy so we are going to give it a go!

He is a very very happy boy and is all smiles and laughter. It seems that mommy is the best at getting him to laugh and daddy is the best at putting him to sleep. He is doing really well at daycare when he is there and very much loves his time with Grandma Hunt on Mondays and Wednesdays. We are going to start working on his strong desire for night feedings. For the longest time he was only waking up once a night, but he is back to twice a night. GOOD TIMES!

Well that is about it!

Here are some pictures from Logan's 6 month birthday party and just some other random ones taken in the past month or so. Enjoy!

My favorite picture from this weekend!

We had a super fun 6 month birthday party for Logan on Saturday! It was great and lots of people who love Logan were there for a VERY fun day. Brunch turned into a great afternoon of sledding and we didn't get home until just before Logan's bedtime. Granted Logan didn't go sledding, but next year... watch out... he'll be flying down the hill! I will be posting a ton more pictures, but I couldn't wait to post a few of these....

Just flasing my baby blues!

Logan got a hold of one of his gifts that Aunt Me left out!

Mommy and Logan. He got a new outfit after blowing out of his diaper... got to love it!

Check out my little glow worm! This is the serious version of the new picture at the top!

Cousins Tommy and Logan! Good times!

Logan and Daddy on Sunday afternoon hanging out on the couch! Such happiness!

Nom Nom Nom....

Me Logan.... Me eat FEET!! He has been working on his flexibility for a couple weeks now. Inching closer and closer to this wonderful new trick of sorts. Monday morning he was successful! YUMMY footy pajamas!

"Victory is MINE!!!"

"What? Let's see you do it fancy pants!"

Daddy takes a go at feeding!

While I was out of commission this weekend my amazing husband was super dad! He did every feeding... day and night... every diaper change... every playtime... every nap time... every bedtime. I was a lazy bump of a puking log all weekend. It is nice to know that when I am down and out I have a great man by my side to step up and double his responsibility without being asked.

While Nathan is a fantastically involved dad - the one thing he hadn't done yet was feed Logan his cereal. Thankfully I woke up in time to witness the first attempt and capture it on camera!

"Alright Daddy! Here we go... let's see what you got!"

"Daddy we are only like on the second bite how do you have so much cereal on your hand already?... really...."

"OH! That is how you want to play it, huh? Try giving me a spoonful of nothing again and see what happens big guy. You think you are lacking in sleep now... JUST YOU WAIT my friend... just you wait!"

"Oh hey Mom! Haven't seen your ugly mug lately. Let me stick out my tongue and show you how I really feel about this whole cereal thing."

"Really Daddy? Seriously? You think distracting me with your hand is going to prevent me from grabbing on to the spoon and getting cereal all over my hand and then putting said cereal all over my face? Really?"

"Well okay then. You did you really good Daddy. I will stop goofing around and eat my cereal!"

As you can see from all of Logan's comments on the pictures... he is quite the sarcastic little boy. I often wonder where he gets that from..... really. hmmmm.....
Logan is a machine now in the cereal department. We are moving on to oatmeal in the next day or so. He has rice cereal down pat, but any more than once a day and his pooper goes haywire! So we are going to introduce some oatmeal and next up.... SWEET POTATOES! Stay tuned!
