Vanity thy name is Logan

Getting ready for bath time tonight Logan was playing with his reflection as we like to do. He really enjoys giving kisses and it seems he thinks he is a very cute boy and wants to give himself kisses too. I had to hold him tight because he was throwing himself at the mirror. Cracking us up!

Playing in the grass... take two...

On Mondays and Wednesdays my mom has Logan at our house. I think she was bound and determind to get him in the grass (although she didn't say as much.) :-) I got this picture sent to my phone...

I of course responded as to what a little stinker he is! She said it was a very slow process to get him to actually sit in the grass and even then he was not very happy with it even after all that. Apparently, the green ball was enough incentive to get him to sit still for the picture. :-)

March of Dimes - March for Babies

Today was our March of Dimes - March for Babies! It was a fantastic! We were so proud to have raised a whopping $540! Our first goal when we set up our family team was $150... we smashed that! It was perfect. There were 6700 other registered walkers for the day and the crowd there was great. It was a little confusing on where we were supposed to go, but it worked out in the end. Our team originally consisted of Nathan, Logan and I, but we were also joined by my parents. The walked the three mile trail with us and it was a very special time.

Mommy and Logan arriving for the walk Sunday morning.

The starting line for the walk.

There were TONS of people on the walk with us.
This was the rainbow memorial bridge for babies who were lost.

Grandma and Grandpa with Logan before the race.

Mommy, Daddy and Logan - we are hoping to do this walk again. Thank you to everyone who generously supported this very worthy and close to the heart cause!

Logan has a very clear opinion on grass...

We were able to get outside today... FINALLY!! It has been SO touch and go with the weather and we seem to always miss the window to be outside. I was personally really looking forward to getting the three of us outside. We made it out and this was the outcome...

The grass wasn't so bad when Logan could sit on the blanket and just touch it...

Of he goes to hang out with Daddy....

Then we touched his feet to the grass... NOT so much loving the grass! We tried it twice within an hour and this was the same reaction both times! Hopefully this doesn't keep up or it will be a LONG summer!! :)

Hanging with the Wolfe family and sending away our kitty??

The past couple weekends we have been spending a lot of time with Nathan's family. There have been many events - Easter - Bridal Shower - Birthday Party - it has made for a busy time. It has been nice having the whole Wolfe family together - the next time will be for Nathan's brother's wedding in May.

The other weekend we didn't get pictures of Nathan's parents with their two grandsons so we remedied that this weekend. Below are a couple of those pictures and also one of Aunt Deb holding her two nephews.

You will see in two of the pictures that little Liam is crying and in both of those Logan is holding his hand. It was the cutest thing. Every time Liam cries Logan reacts. A couple weeks ago he would frown when Liam started crying, but now he seems to want to comfort him. Mommy thinks that is pretty darn cute!

Logan has had a runny nose on and off (mostly on) for months and months. We always chalked it up to daycare-itis. I know it is really normal for babies to be sick if they are in daycare and such. However - it just seems crazy that he has had a cold for so long. We started wondering if maybe he had an allergy to our cat. So we sent our kitty, Cyan, to stay with my parents for a little while. We did a major vacuum and such. We are also getting our house professionally cleaned tomorrow (a gift from my aunt) so that should get a lot of the hair/dander out of the house. In just the two days that Cyan has been gone from the house Logan's snotty nose as all but disappeared. It is really crazy how much less snot is coming out. The past month or so Logan has been walking around with his mouth open and tongue hanging out. Yesterday and today... not at all. So we'll give it another big week or so and then bring back the kitty and see if he gets snotty again. We would hate to have to send kitty away, but we would rather that than Logan be suffering so.

Anyway - enjoy the pictures below!

We have a crawler!!

Three posts in one day... yeah I know that is a lot. BUT I couldn't NOT post these videos!

After a couple weeks of "maybe today...." Logan started crawling!! Our boy is getting so big!

His motivation for crawling... a $20 bill and cell phone! HAHA.... he won't crawl for his toys. :-) Hopefully that will change!

And yes - in the first video I sound like a complete tool. Oh well... I was really excited!

OMG - in the process of the videos loading Logan just looked at me after some prompting by me and said ma-ma! TWICE!!!!!!

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter yesteday - albeit - a long day. But it was full of family and candy so that works. We started off the day getting up at 5:45... that was Logan's idea. He is so creative. Then we headed out to my parents' little country church for breakfast and church.

Logan was a catnapper yesterday and slept on the way out, played during breakfast and slept in Grandma's arms during church. All the church people were just loving on him. They think he looks like his Uncle Kyle.

Daddy, Momma and Logan. I literally had 25 versions of this picture. The is the only one with Logan looking at the camera and smiling! He was highly distracted yesterday. But I think it is a cute picture.

Logan and Grandma with the Easter lilies!

Daddy and Logan - again - he was highly distracted by everything.

Grandma, Momma and Logan

Logan and his grandparents - they are just smitten with him and he with them!
After church we left to head to the Wolfe house. We got there before everyone else (they were still at church) and were able to get a quick lunch in for Logan. He was very happy to eat as it was a little later than normal. We had a great dinner with a packed house of 14 people. It was a lot of fun though and with TWO babies now the party is getting bigger and better!

Me and Logan - a happy pair.

Logan's new little cousin Liam! I just love this picture. It is so tiring being a cute bunny rabbit!

The mommies with their babies!

Great Grandpa holding his two great-grandsons.

Great-Grandma doing the same. They both were in seventh heaven with the boys.

Logan sporting Uncle Stephen's hat.

The girls - Deb, Caitlin, me and Christina!

8 months old!

This post was supposed to happen Friday - but well - it didn't! So here we go!

Amazing how time flies!

Logan is getting so big - up to 19 pounds 8.5 ounces and 28 1/2 inches long. He is still the super happy, laughing and joyful baby boy. The ladies at church nursery call him the sunshine baby. :-)

Logan is very very close to crawling. Seems like it is going to be any day now. He pops up on his hands and knees when he is on his belly and rocks forward and backward. It is fun to watch. He is still doing one feeding a night and we are good with that for now. I'm sure it will end soon enough. He has slept through the night once and was pretty close a couple other nights. (Update: that paragraph was written on Friday... TOTALLY jinxed us. The past three days Logan has been waking multiple times and wanting to get up for the day t 5:45! SO not cool with mommy and daddy. One should never have to get up when the first numbe on the clock is a 5! No idea what is causing this. He also just wants to cat nap all day long.)

Still no teeth. The drool just keeps flowing! haha I think they will be here soon as his gums are really bumpy and red. We shall see. We are just so happy to have such a happy, healthy boy.

Here are some pictures we took last week just for the heck of it:

Logan and the kitty are starting to become friends.

Logan LOVES to stand on the couch and look out the window and the birds or whatever is more exciting than what is happening in the living room.

Logan's bedroom has dark red curtains that block out the sunlight well for the most part. Except for the late afternoon sun (his room faces the West) so it ends up glowing red. He seems to like it though.

Logan really likes to stand. He is starting to be able to pull himself up pretty well. If we stand him up at his exersaucer so he can bang the buttons he will be very happy for a good 10 minutes.

"ooooooooo..... CAMERA! give.it.to.me!"

How quickly his face can change!

Okay these last two pictures crack me up. I call this his pimp-tastic outfit! HA!

Thanks for looking at my pictures... next up later today... EASTER!

Logan and the Easter Bunny

My mom and I took Logan to visit the Easter Bunny at the mall today. He was hilarious! Big huge smiles. I was right below the camera so his eyes ended up looking a little closed. Oh well. I think he was a total doll!

Rocking... ARMY CRAWLING... and totally cute!

Here are a couple videos from tonight. The first is a little rocking and a little army crawling. The second is the same with just some cuteness and a little longer. He is getting really close to crawling for real... so exciting. Please ignore his totally wet shirt - we had taken his bib off and it was drentched in a matter of minutes. Oh well - such is the life of a drooling baby.

Had to drop his crib...

It seems like we wait and wait and wait for new things to happen with babies...

...when will they hold their heads up?
...when will they smile?
...when will they laugh?
...when will they sit by themselves?
...crawl?
...walk?
...talk? etc etc etc

We have been waiting on Logan to finally figure out how to get from his belly to sitting. He has been trying SOOOO hard. We could listen to him grunt and get so pissy about it. Then he would flop back down on his belly and let his beached whale cry of frustration! Eventually daddy or mommy would come over and sit him up and he is happy as a clam again. (Not sure about all the sea creature references....HA!)

Anyway - FINALLY - on Wednesday he got it. Over and over and over and over again. He already knew that Logan could get to his knees and almost feet when we sat him in his crib to play if we were putting his laundry away or something in there. We were putting off dropping his mattress since we knew that he couldn't get to sitting alone... why bother?

Last night was the night... down it goes. Of course my arms are so damn short I can barely reach to lay him down, but oh well.

It was quite funny watching him on his belly and then he would start to get mad and then it was like a lightbulb went off in his head when he remembered he could remedy the problem himself. Then he would sit up and clap for himself! You can't beat that kind of entertainment!
