HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So New Year's Day was to be the day we told Nathan's family about the baby. We were very excited and very anxious to tell them. We planned it out that we would give Nathan's parents the last two presents. They were bibs and one said, "I love my Grandma" and the other said, "I love my Grandpa." They seemed to be very excited and got all teary eyed. Nathan's mom looked at me and said, "Are you pregnant?" And it took his father a couple more seconds to go from a stone faced expression to a happy one. They seemed really happy.
Nathan's siblings all said I was a big liar. I told them I couldn't have any drinks New Year's Eve because I had a Crohn's Disease flare up. :-) I figured it was a good lie - heck it worked, right?!
Nathan's mom had been collecting baby stuff and gave me some cute Halloween stuff and some baby books. All of this was great...
It was a little strange the rest of the day when ... no one asked when I was due or how I was feeling or when we found out... nothing. Christina got upset because I think she is ready to be in the same pregnant shoes I am, but it made me feel really bad about even announcing our pregnancy. I think that is why no one said anything else the rest of the day. I'm sure they were all excited and when Nathan called his parents later his mom said they were excited, just tired from a long week.
