Fun at the park

On Sunday our church held a bunch of regional gatherings for different parts of the community. The church is pretty big, but it allows you to meet people from church who live close to you. Our next door neighbors go to the same church and they hosted the get together at a park up the road. It was a great time! Logan didn't sit still to eat any dinner and finally by 6:30 (a hour after his dinner time) we convinced him that going home to eat was a great idea. He of course ate his dinner like it was the last supper! Good gosh that boy can shovel it in!

I digress...

While we were there Logan was LOVING the play ground. We took Logan to the same park Labor Day of last year when he was about 3 weeks old and captured these pictures:

Yesterday - Nathan took Logan over to the same play structure (different slide) and they went up and down... up and down... Finally Logan decided he didn't need Daddy to hold him as he went down. If this boy went down the slide once - he went 20 times. All by himself! (Daddy of course placed him at the top of the slide!) Can't you just see the pure joy that Logan is feeling! He would hold on to the sides and scoot his butt forward little by little - giggling the whole time of course. And then let go of the sides and squeal the whole way down! Granted - most of the time the momentum sent him to his back and he slide down on his back, but he loved it all the same!

It amazes me to see Logan learn things - even the simpliest things - like going down a slide. He just is such a light of joy and wonder for our lives. This next year is going to be an even bigger explosion of learning and we can't wait!!
