SUMMER FLASHBACK: First Road Trip!

In June of this year we made our first family road trip to central Indiana!  We originally went so Nathan could reconnect with some family.  Sadly that reunion did not go as planned.  Thankfully, we did have a nice time at the hotel and the drive itself wasn't so bad.  We were on the road around nap time on Friday.  It was a 4 hour trip and the kids did pretty well.  We had a bit of a meltdown with Abby for a spell, but it ended up alright.

Logan packed his own bag for the trip.  It is a great thing I packed clothes for him as well.  What was Logan's suitcase?  Shoes. Only shoes. Yup... that was a great packing job buddy boy.

They were so cuddly together. :)

After an in room pizza dinner we tried out the pool.  Abby didn't like it at first, but I think Daddy maybe moved her through it a little fast.  She wasn't a huge fan of that.  But Momma was a little slower and Daddy was able to play with her fast moving brother.  She really seemed to enjoy it after that.  Logan's favorite part was the hot tub!

After we left the hotel on Saturday during nap time we headed from Indianapolis area to Fort Wayne.  My amazing cousin Raelynn and her family.  Her son Dane is 1 month younger than Logan.  (She and I had a shared baby shower for our family back when we were pregnant - it was great!)  She also has another son, Vaughn who is 2.  We always have such a great time visiting with them.  Her husband, Mike is an awesome man.  He and Nathan get on really well.

Look at those sweet boys in the tiny pool.  They are so cute!  One of my favorite family photos.  We attempted to get a picture of the 4 children together, but well, that was not easy.  Two three year old boys (at the time), a 2 year old and an 8 month old.  "A" for effort!

After the kids were in bed we broke out many many bottles of wine.  I'm not huge on wine, but would love to be so we had a sort of wine tasting.  I discovered that wine makes me super giggly.  And eventually Rae and I busted out the Doritos and ketchup.  This was a childhood favorite that Rae got me hooked on.  I still love it!

What a wonderful weekend!
