Oh what a weekend...

To say this weekend was great would be a gross OVERstatement. Usually I like to be all sunshine and roses about our family time and about 90% of the time it is really great. This weekend... it sucked. There were some bright spots, but by and large. It sucked.

Our shower faucets are leaking in the bathtub so we need to replace them. They have been leaking for a while, but we did some cheap/easy/short term fixes to keep them going. We are redoing our bathroom after the first of the year so we thought we could hold it off til then. NOPE! So on Friday evening - off to Lowes we went...

This whole under the cart thing was super cool until Mommy rolled over Logan's fingers. Motherhood. FAIL.

Logan checking out all the ridiculous blow up yard decorations. He thought they were pretty awesome!
We bought what we needed to fix the faucet and went home. Nathan got to work... it didn't fix the problem. In fact - it made it worse! AWESOME! So worse in fact that turning the water shut off to the shower itself didn't work to stop the leaking. - now it was leaking in the wall and we had to turn the water off to the whole house. We turned it on a few times here and there to run around flushing toilets and then turned it back off. Again. Awesome. We now have water damage downstairs in the 1/2 bath below the full back. LUCKY US! Beginning of much frustration and bickering between the adults in our house...
Saturday morning I got an itch that really needed scratching. Logan NEEDED to be in his toddler bed. Why now and not waiting a couple weeks? No real reason other than I got the idea in my head and refused to let go of it. We went to Ikea as we needed some wall anchors for the furniture in his room. I wrote about that in the previous post. The transition went pretty well, nap time is the hardest, but he is doing okay at bed time and great through the night. Saturday afternoon Logan woke up from his nap in the WORST mood ever. It was great. Continued - more bickering between the adults...
Saturday night Nathan went to a men's event at our church which began as a documentary on human trafficking (a cause Nathan feels pretty strongly about) and ended with "so do you struggle with pornography and sexual temptation?" Nathan about lost his mind as this was NOT what the event was advertised to be. It is not something he struggles with and felt it was a bad bait and switch. We love our church, but wow did they lose some bonus points for that.
Sunday - still no water in the house, I go to my nearby aunt and uncle's to shower and Logan and I went to church. Church was good, Nathan stayed home to again try and fix the problem. Again - didn't work. Water is off again. LOTS of bickering between the adults... Nathan and I have a class at church from 4-6 and Logan went to a play date with his super cool friend Izzy! (High point of the weekend!) It was the first time Izzy had a friend over and she and Logan had a blast.
Izzy wearing Logan's boots, Logan wearing Izzy's sock on his hand and her older brother Malcom's old hat. Good sharing everyone!

Talk about a stud muffin!!
After the class I was going to drop Nathan at home and go pick up Logan. Nathan and I sat in the driveway for a good half hour talking.... so ends the bickering, frustration and resentment of the weekend. AHHHHHHHHHHH...... upstairs he goes to try yet another fix for the bathroom. I will go through the rest of the evening quickly:
  • Logan is home and happy
  • Mommy heads off to do some grocery shopping for the week
  • Daddy gets Logan ready for bed (no bath as still no water)
  • Logan wants his bed moved to the other side of the room and all stuffed animals piled next to the bed in order to agree to go to bed.
  • Daddy cooperates and Logan is asleep
  • Mommy comes home after spending too much on groceries
  • Daddy has the shower fixed enough that we can at least take really fast showers and will be able to give Logan a bath tonight without causing more damage
  • Daddy says he will call his friend for some help to get a more permanent fix

Thank GOD IT IS MONDAY!!! ha!!!!

(Don't be scared - I will go back to my regular Pollyanna view of the world soon... once I get another shower and permanently running water... not asking for too much here!) :-)
