Potty Traning Days 3 and 4 and snow day!

Logan has been doing so great with potty training - I'm quite pleased. On Monday he was with my mom and did a great job! ZERO accidents! He went 7 times on the potty and the majority of those times he initiated it. Good stuff! Tuesday was his first daycare potty training day - I sent in 6 changes of clothes because #1 that is what they suggested and #2 I had no idea what to expect. He did great - one accident and that was it. Pretty great! He hasn't pooped on the potty since Saturday. When daycare put him in a regular diaper for nap (they couldn't find the pull ups in his bag) he filled it up. So I think that is something we need to work on, but I'm not sure how to do that just yet. But we'll figure it out.

The only potential obstacle we have is that when he has gone in time out he immediately has to go potty. I don't know if this is him trying to play us because he knows we'll take him out of time out to pee (although we do start it over again after he goes) or because he kind of slows down and then realizes he has to go. Not sure... he has done it the last three time outs.

We are all home today - the weatherman has been building up this HUGE blizzard we were supposed to get, but in the end we only got probably about 8 of the 10-16 inches predicted. I'll take it. Nathan has a paid snow day and I don't so I'm working from home today. Not quite as productive as a day in the office, but I'll get a few things done.

This is how Nathan and Logan spent the morning:

Logan loves swinging and flying in the blankets... always perfect for a good laugh fest!

Thank you for posting all the details of your potty training...I'm so proud of Logan!!! YAY. I guess I need to get my butt in gear with PT and my littles.

Did Logan use the potty a lot before you attempted to potty train?

Hope you get this comment back. Logan had been going on the potty quite a bit before we did the offical potty training. He started going on the potty while at daycare shortly before he turned two and would go before bath time if we set him on the potty. (He still only goes sitting on the potty - not standing.)

We didn't make it a big deal, but loaded on the praise when he did it. Going before bathtime seemed to be the best for him for a long time and he would go every now and then at other times while at school. I think part of it was unintentional peer pressure of seeing some of the older kids going on the potty.

By and large we just took the plunge and didn't look back. It was hard and I wanted to give up about three hours in, but Nathan convinced me to continue. I'm very glad we did - Logan has done great. He now tells us when he has to pee and we don't have to prompt him at all.

Okay done rambling! :)

This is great - he's doing such a great job. I will give your techniquet a try with my kiddos - I'll try to get Julian to use th epotty before bathtime for now. He has never gone potty on the toilet, but he will sit on it for a while. Thanks for all your adivce!
