On Thursday Logan woke up completely out of sorts. He was really grumpy and everything we did or didn't do completely sent him over the edge! We did take him to daycare and he was just not having it. I received a call from his teacher later in the morning saying he was still having a tough time and said his left ear hurt. I got to thinking that his behavior was very similar to how he was when he had an ear infection before tubes. He has a few minor ear infections in the past year, but they were very minor, it all drained out and we went on with our lives. I did take him to the doctor about an hour later (LOVE that our pediatrician always has appts open for same day needs) and low and behold a BAD ear infection in his left ear. We started antibiotics and Logan and I stayed home the rest of Thursday and he stayed home with my mom on Friday.
Friday night Nathan left with his parents to go up north to help clear out his grandparents' house. So Saturday was Momma/Logan day. We did a lot of chores around the house in the morning. When we were picking up Nathan and my's room Logan found a thermometer. He quickly said, "I check-a my temerture, Momma!" (for some reason he adds an "a" to a lot of his words!) Apparently he was okay as he continued running all over.
This is one of Logan's favorite chores is to put dirty clothes down the laundry chute. Thankfully the chute is really small - just the width of that half wall and maybe a foot across. We are just thankful he hasn't figured out he can throw everything and its brother down there! Time will tell of course. So he was getting a little antsy so I filled a clothes basket with some dirty clothes and sent him off to have a blast in the hallway!Nathan wasn't going to be home until after bedtime so I thought a great end to our day would be a run to Dairy Queen! YUM! Logan sure did enjoy his ice cream cone and while he got fairly messy it wasn't nearly as bad as it was last year!

On Sunday morning we opted out of going to church and praised the Lord in the backyard by cleaning things up! Logan and I pruned some bushes while Nathan trimmed with the weed wacker and then we sat on the deck to watch Daddy mow the backyard. Logan clearly missed him terribly while he was gone and was glued to his hip any time he was able to be! Logan had to be as close the yard as possible without actually being on it. He was cracking me up. :)
Logan apparently was exhausted from all his hard work and needed a break. While many of the men in our family may relax with an ice cold beer or a cold pop - Logan opted to lean back and chill out with a juice box... ahhhhh - what a life!It was a great weekend, but we need a full day with just US. Nathan was gone all day Saturday and I was gone all afternoon Sunday for a baby shower. I can't wait for the long weekend coming up. I hope the weather is okay for it!!
Happy Monday all!
