It took us a little longer to get out the door than we planned, but once we were there is was FUN! We went up to Independence Park - a county park that has a lake, splash pad, lots of picnic areas, play ground, boat rentals and it only costs $5 to get in for the whole car! Awesomeness!
As soon as we got there we unloaded all our gear - which was A LOT as we planned on spending all day there - and then made our first round to the splash pad! Logan was slightly hesitant at first, but quickly got over that and was all over the place!

Then he asked to go in the "pool" - we explained it was a lake and as he was walking out to the water he was telling Nathan that the lake was yucky. He was happy once he got in though. I headed off to get lunch ready.

We had a yummy picnic lunch and then tried for nap time. I had blankets, pillows and a sheet for him. However, Logan inherited his parents' people watching gene and was far too interested in the groups around us. Thankfully Nathan had the idea to take him for a walk in the stroller. He was out pretty quick. He didn't take a LONG nap, but it was enough to recharge his battery for the afternoon of fun.

After nap time we headed up and rented a paddle boat! Logan of course insisted on sitting up front with Daddy to help push the peddles. He took breaks every so often, but generally he sat on the ledge so he could reach the peddles and peddled his little heart out! It was pretty sweet. We had a great time and Logan loved it which of course made it even better.

After how hot it was on the lake we headed to the concession stand for a sweet treat. Logan picked out the biggest popsicle the size of his head. The best part of being in a water park area is that I could just let the thing melt all over him and not worry about how sticky he was getting. It all washed off after our second go in the splash pad.

We had so much fun - Logan was all over the place. We even ran into one of his little friends from daycare and they were sprinting all over the place!
His favorite thing was to run through the double rings - he of course made us run through this a few times... it was SOAKING!!! A great time. He would run around and have gone through it again before Nathan or I would have gotten the water out of our eyes!

After splash pad take two we headed back to our picnic spot for dinner. Nathan grilled up some hot dogs and I watched he and Logan play with the frisbee. My right hip has been really really bad with this pregnancy and after a day of running around I basically had to swing my right leg forward to get anywhere. Sitting and relaxing was a welcomed comfort for sure!

It was a fantastic day! Logan slept in until almost 10 the next morning! So did Nathan and I for that matter. It took me pretty much all of Sunday trying to recover from Saturday pain wise - but it was soooo worth it!
Can't wait until we have our next family fun day. We probably only have one - MAYBE two, but probably only 1 more until we are a family of four having our family fun days! Amazing!
