Family Fun Day!!

After what seems like weeks and weekends full of to-do lists and chores and projects I told Nathan that I was declaring Sunday was "Family Fun Day" - no project lists, no to-dos, no nothing! The only thing allowed was the three of us having fun! AND FUN WE HAD!!

After church I whipped up some Mac and Cheese - so fancy, I know... and we ate lunch on the new dining set we bought last week for our deck. (I love me some self timed pictures... click and RUN!"

That morning before church Logan found the remote control helicopter and we told him we would play with it after lunch. As soon as we were done he asked for the helicopter. We tried it outside, but discovered it doesn't really work well out there.

So inside we went and Daddy gave a good demonstration of how to fly the helicopter. It wasn't long before Logan was asking for a turn.

Such a look of concentration on his face in these -I love it!

After nap we decided it would be fun to head to a park in town that we had not been to before. Turns out Logan had been with my mom, but it was Nathan and my's first time. It was a blast!

The joy on my boy's face is just contagious I don't know how anyone could spend time with him and not enjoy the heck out of the whole experience?!

Logan loves to lean back when he swings and I am glad I was able to capture this carefree happiness he has.

Super Logan! - More on the cape tomorrow... (I made it!!)

While I ran to the store to get us some water (we were slightly unprepared for Family Fun Day) Logan and Nathan found a caterpillar. FUN!

We had a snack of water, peanut butter crackers and some fritos... snack time of champions... I'm going to have to plan better on our next family fun day as our food options for the day were less than stellar.

My two handsome boys - could they be any cuter?

We did have one ouchie for the day - Logan vs. Swing... the swing won the battle, but Logan went back and won the war!

Then the boys took turns climbing this tower thingy... (official name)

On our way out of the park I asked Logan what he wanted for dinner - he quickly responded, "Pizza and Breadsticks!" So we picked up a hot and ready and headed home for a backyard picnic!

Logan said he was listening to baby sister... Abby was saying, "Wake Up" according to Logan.

Nathan was given some fireworks as a thank you gift - kind of odd, I know. So we busted out the sparklers! Logan loved them! Nathan being the pyro he is asked if he could light a couple of the fireworks off. We have never done that at our house before, and we had no clue how old these fireworks were, but I shockingly agreed. Logan LOVED IT! But I think Nathan loved it more. ha! It was during the day and such, but Logan still found them to be very exciting! It was a great end to our family fun day!

Then it was off to bath, some more helicopter flying and bed. This was the prayer Logan said when he went to bed - prayed all by himself - "Dear God, thank you for today, thank you for Daddy, thank you for macaroni and cheese, thank you for pizza and breadsticks, thank you for da park, thank you for making helicopter fly, thank you for Momma, thank you for fireworks. Amen." (Then Nathan asked what about Abby?) "Dear God, thank you for Abby. Amen!"

So wonderful, such a blessing and SO happening again soon. We have already decided July 16th is our next family fun day and are making plans to be slightly more organized and just as much fun!!!
