It's a GIRL!

Yesterday was the big reveal day! I must say I was so anxious/nervous/excited I was sure I was going to throw up! And no - I'm not really joking. I was a mess. After thinking about it I think the reason was that after the ultrasound we were going to have a great image in our heads of what our little Wolfe Pack was going to look like. Will there be another Logan running around? Will we have a girl and will she have my curly hair?! Turns out that while we don't know if she will have curls we DO know that this little baby is a GIRL! To say we are thrilled would be an understatement for sure. We both got all teary during the ultrasound.

Baby Girl was moving all around and appears to really prefer to lay on her left side. She was on her back for a bit, but always went back to the left. This made getting some of the images hard for the ultrasound tech- namely the heart images. I had three separate ultrasounds while there and she finally was able to get some images that she felt were pretty good. We'll see what the doctor thinks.

(I always fine the spine pictures pretty amazing!)

The magical three lines that scream GIRLY GIRL! I knew what I was looking for and I thought I caught a glimpse and asked the ultrasound tech where we were looking and she said, "Between the legs." I quickly yelled, "THAT IS A GIRL! THAT IS A VAGINA!" (Yeah, not my finest moment I admit.) ha! But the nice gal laughed and said, "Yes, yes you are!" Instant mental picture of a Logan with longer hair and a dress. Because really I can't picture my children looking different - although I know for darn sure they probably will!

Last night we had our families over for the big announcement. They had all been waiting the whole day for it and we appreciated their patience!

Nathan really wanted to have a special cake with the interior frosting tinted pink or blue and while he offered to make it - in the end we purchased an (overpriced) cake from a bakery called, Cake Nouveau - the gal who owns it has been on numerous cake decorating competitions online (we love us some cake shows) and we had been wanting to buy a cake from her for a while. Seemed like the perfect opportunity. Nathan set everything up and we were good to go.

Our family was all gathered around and I cut a piece of cake and when I lifted it up they all saw the pink buttercream layers and let out a big hoot and cheer! It was pretty great if I do say so myself. The cake looked lovely.... the only problem was....

... it tasted AWFUL!! Like seriously AWFUL!!!! The buttercream outside was supposed to be milk chocolate, but it was a coffee/chocolate flavor and I detest coffee in any form. The chocolate cake inside was dry, the outside edges were hard. What was supposed to be vanilla buttercream inside only tasted of shortening and had a very greasy texture. Overall it was just a big fat disappointment. Even Logan wouldn't eat more than two bites. I think only a couple people ate their whole slice, but most everyone was in agreement that the cake was pretty gross. Nathan of course liked it because well - if it is a chocolate based dessert Nathan will eat anything! :)

Overall the day was fantastic, our families were thrilled and we were given some very cute baby clothes and such. (Girls really do have MUCH cuter clothes... let's be honest!)

We can not wait to meet our daughter and we'll see if she will be Daddy's Princess or Momma's Tomboy! I think deep down I am hoping a combo of both... a girl who likes her pinks and purples and isn't afraid to get dirty! :) We love her already!!
