Perspective

A friend of our family died yesterday. It was sudden. It was tragic. His family was a group that Nathan's family is very very close to. He was only 31... would have been celebrating his first wedding anniversary next week. He was an only child to two very devoted parents. His name is Adam.

Nathan and I were talking last night and it was a time where we just wanted to hold eachother and Logan a little closer. You just never know when your time may be up or that of someone you hold so dear.

The thought of Logan dying before us has actually been a reality we faced when they took our baby boy from the labor and delivery room when he wasn't breathing. It was only an hour before we were able to see him and see that he was breathing, but every second not knowing was an eternity. Since then there are still times I will tip toe into his bedroom and make sure he is sleeping peacefully in his crib.

While Nathan and I try to tell each other as often as we can how much we love and appreciate the other it is times like these where you really do realize what you have in life. I know the economy is bad...I know people are struggling... I know people have lost their jobs... I know all these bad things are happening. BUT - look around you... regardless of all those things you have your spouse, you have your children, you have your family, friends, pets... all beings who you love and love you. You can never give too many hugs, too many kisses, too many I love yous, to many thank yous to those around you. Give a few extras out when you think to - in the very least you will know you have brightened someones day.

I am so sorry! That is tragic, and you are so right. We are all blessed in our own ways, and it is often forgotten. Please tell Nathan I am sorry for his loss!
